TECHNICAL RESCUE

 

THE SKYKOMISH VALLEY IS A POPULAR PLACE FOR HIKING, ROCK CLIMBING AND AQUATIC SPORTS. A LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE COME VERY YEAR TO ENJOY THE OUTDOORS. WHEN THE UNEXPECTED HAPPENS FIRE DISTRICT 26 IS PREPARED TO OFFER ASSISTANCE. MEMBERS OF THE DEPARTMENT ARE TRAINED IN HIGH AND LOW ANGLE ROPE RESCUE AND SWIFT WATER RESCUE. THE DISTRICT ALSO HAS A TEAM OF RAPID ENTRY RESCUE SWIMMERS WHO CAN PERFORM WATER RESCUES AT A MOMENT'S NOTICE. THE DISTRICT'S TECHNICAL RESCUE APPARATUS ARE STORED AT STATION 54. THEY INCLUDE:

 

RESCUE 54 - 2005 FORD EXCURSION EQUIPPED WITH ROPE RESCUE AND WATER RESCUE EQUIPMENT ALONG WITH INFLATABLE KAYAKS FOR SWIFT WATER SITUATIONS.

 

BOAT 54 - 2007 21' SPORT JOHN JET BOAT EQUIPPED WITH THROW BAGS AND MEDICAL SUPPLIES. IT IS ALSO USED DURING FLOODING EVENTS TO HELP WITH EVACUATIONS.
