The District is always looking for people who want to help their community. If you live within 10 minutes of the boundaries of Fire District 26, or are willing rto work shifts at one of our stations and you want to become part of our district we offer the following programs:

On Duty Firefighter/EMT
Members in this program live outside of the Skykomish Valley and respond while working shifts at one of our two stations. Previous completion of an EMT or Firefighter 1 program is required to apply. Members are expected to complete the equivalent of 2 twenty four hour shifts per month.
Respond from home Firefighter/EMT
Members in this program live or work in the Skykomish Valley and respond to calls for service from their homes or workplace. No previous experience is necessary. All training will be provided. Members are eligible to participate in duty shifts at our stations. Members are expected to respond to 7 percent of all calls annually.
Respond from home EMT
Members in this program live or work in the Skykomish Valley and respond to EMS calls for service from their homes or workplace. Firefighting training is not required. No previous experience is necessary and all EMT training will be provided. Members are eligible to participate in duty shifts at our stations. Members are expected to respond to 7 percent of all EMS calls annually.
Resident Firefighters live full time at Fire Station 54. In exchange, Residents work night shifts on a 2 day on 4 day off schedule. Shifts are from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Residents that are off duty are also expected to cover calls when the crew is out of the station.
On Call Paramedic
On Call Paramedics are required to be a current Washington State Paramedic with at least 2 years of experience. Email MSO Matt Abers for more information.
